National Interests in International Relations

Within the frames of the unit plan “Globalization’’ the students of grade 11 focus on the problem of National Interests in the context of International relations.
Globalization is the process of interaction and integration among people, companies, and governments worldwide. It means the spread of products, technology, information, and jobs across national borders and cultures. Nowadays people around the globe are more connected to each other than ever before.
In spite of all benefits of going global nations have deep roots, based on history, culture, traditions, mentality and religion. The students start the lesson paying tribute to Easter, resurrection of Jesus Christ. They highlight the importance of preserving traditions of religious origin in the light of recent events. They speak about World Religions (Big Five) in general and Christianity in particular. In today’s world it plays an important role and may determine the policy of the country.
The students speculate on such expressions as National Interest, National Identity and National Stereotype. They give definition to
National Stereotype and complete the lesson revising Nationality Idioms.
